Emmanuel Yeboah's Silk Mosaics are a totally unique art form. Each piece is completely made by hand. The composition is drawn on a panel. Bit by bit, silk threads are painstakingly bonded to the wood substrate, one color at at time. The threads are arranged in rows which work around in a spiral and every so often change direction, thereby creating facets and patterns which lend depth and vibrancy to the abstract. The contrasting flows of colorful silk thread greatly enhance the texture and mood of each dazzling image. Mr. Yeboah describes this piece as follows: "The Atumpan Talking Drums are used widely by chiefs in Ghana to send messages. The Okyrema, or master drummer, can make the drums "speak" by flexing the bows which alters the pitch of the drums." 24" x 32" unframed.
