Emmanuel Yeboah's Silk Mosaics are a totally unique art form. Each piece is completely made by hand. The composition is drawn on a panel. Bit by bit, silk threads are painstakingly bonded to the wood substrate, one color at at time. The threads are arranged in rows which work around in a spiral and every so often change direction, thereby creating facets and patterns which lend depth and vibrancy to the abstract. The contrasting flows of colorful silk thread greatly enhance the texture and mood of each dazzling image. The piece is described by Mr. Yebaoh, "Africans women commonly walk many miles to reach the Central Market. They can be seen everywhere along the roadways often enjoying the shade created by their goods." 24" x 32" unframed.
